Libyan Beaches
There is no doubt that Libya is lined with some stunning beaches.
Libya overlooks the Mediterranean Sea with a coast line around 2.000 km long. This makes Libya's resort beaches among the longest along the Mediterranean Sea. Libya's beaches are characterized by variations in their natural appearances from sandy beaches under the shadows of palm trees to rocky beaches overlooked from above by great hills, such as the one that enjoyed at the Green Mountain Sea Resort.
The Northern West Beaches
There are many beaches spread along Libya's northern coast, the most significant of which are those are found west and east of the cities of Zwara, Melita and Telil. To the west of the Phoenician city of Sabratha, there are Farwa Island beach, Tripoli, Khomes, Zletin, and Misurata. These great beaches are distinguished with their soft white sand, tall palm trees and sandy hills covered with grass and forest trees, all of which form the backdrop. There are also several small beaches that provide tourists and beach lovers with even more great attractions, such as Psis and Nagaza, located between Garabouli and Khomes cities.
The Great North Eastern Beaches
Whilst in the north-eastern part of the country, from Touchier to Tolmitha, which is distinguished by its vast beaches, there are beaches which are wide and equally attractive despite their small size. These beaches could become international destinations for tourists from all over the world. In addition to that, there are several attractive beaches lying between Alhena and Ras-Alhamama near Sousa (Apollonia). East of Sousa, towards Derna city, there are splendid coastal sights.
Enjoyable Opportunities
In general and without dispute, Libya's beaches provide a great variety of enjoyable opportunities, particularly the beautiful natural sites and the different water sports available, including diving and sea sports using vessels of all types.
